Notes from the Director
A dear friend of mine once told me that it's best to set milestones on one's journeys
in life, and to celebrate those milestones with a bottle of champagne. We at the
Astoria International Film Festival* will raise our first glass of champagne to
commemorate our fifth year of bringing outstanding films to the Northern Oregon
Coast with a five-day Festival, October 20-21-22-23-24, 2011.
This year we will be screening a number of Oregon-grown award winning feature
films as part of our eclectic repertoire; an expanded Young People's Film Festival;
a Film Forum; a Special Tribute to Elizabeth Taylor; and much more!
We would like to add a Thank You note to our sponsors, to the Astoria community,
and to the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce for your support over the
last five years.
