Notes from the Director
A dear friend of mine once told me that it’s best to set milestones on one’s journeys
in life, and to celebrate those milestones with a glass of champagne. We at the
Astoria International Film Festival* raised our first glasses of champagne to
commemorate our fifth consecutive year of bringing outstanding films to the
Northern Oregon Coast with an expanded five-day Festival in October of 2011.
Our events included the screening of a number of Oregon-grown award winning
feature films as part of our eclectic repertoire; a Film Forum; a Special Tribute to
Elizabeth Taylor; and much more!
We would like to add a Thank You note to our sponsors, to the Astoria community,
and to the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce for your support over the
last five years.
